July 4 - The Bridge - Janine Ellen Young - A race of intelligent dragon-like beings want to make contact with other planets, so they build a bridge across space-time and send millions of ships with messages and knowledge in them. Unfortunately for earth, one of these reaches them. I say unfortunately because the aliens exchange knowledge genetically through what is, to the humans, a virus which wipes out most of earth. Those who are left are divided into those whose genes and intelligence melded with the aliens and those who just never became ill.
